2010 Fiesta Celebration

         La Carlota City celebrated its annual fiesta on January 20-24, 2010 in honor of and thanksgiving to its patron saint Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buenviaje.  It was highlighted by various events sponsored by the city government, the education sector, ad the religious groups.

            The events started with a cultural fete which included a playground demonstrations, capped by the coronation of muses of the La Carlota South Elementary School II.  A similar activity was also rendered by LCSES I and LCNES on January 21 and 22, respectively.  Special guests during the coronation nights were Cong. Jeffrey P. Ferrer, Mayor Demie John C. Honrado, Vice Mayor David T. Baga, Jr. and the Sangguniang Panlungsod members.

            The chess and dama tournaments were held at the city public plaza January 22-23.  Twenty four participants joined the chess competition and 18 in dama.  A concert of the seminarians was staged by the Our Lady of Peace Parish Church on the evening of January 23.

            The visit of Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, accompanied by Board Member Jose Benito A. Alonso enlivened the fiesta.  He was welcomed by the city and barangay officials headed by Mayor Demie John C. Honrado, SP members Julian M. Chiang, Rosalinda L. Aguirre, Jose Luis Miguel Solomon C. Sicangco IV, ABC President Jacob E. Liansing, SK Federation President Erwin B. Ponce, Jr., PCI David L. Cachumbo, Brgy. Captains Annabelle Q. Bermudo, Juanito S. Dionisio, Nanette P. Escarsa, Rodolfo T. Jimenez, Benson F. Pilar, Joel S. Senares, Oliver A. Ignacio, Erlinda B. Domingo, Rembert A. Calimutan, Francisco D. Oplas, Joel E. Rumbines, Jose Luis A.
