SMNHS Recipient of BFCCCII 2-Room School Building

            The Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. turned over on March 18, 2010 its latest donation of a two-classroom school building to the Department of Education.  The beneficiary of the facility was San Miguel National High School situated in La Carlota City, one of the 14 barangays outside the poblacion.  Mayor Demie John C. Honrado was the guest of honor.

            The blessing and inauguration was attended by SP members Luis J. Jalandoni III, Ciriaco D. Sia, Jr. and Jacob E. Liansing, donors Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo and Catherine Ching, Wee Kiat Tan-EVP-BFCCCII Eisen C. Uy – Treasurer, Antonio Cosing-vice chairman, Welfare Committee, and directors Dennis K. Chiu, Henry T. Ng, Kenneth C. Locsin, and Ong Bing Ping.  Dr. Leopoldo F. Sichon – OIC-Principal lauded the BFCCCII for its landmark undertaking through its Operation Barrio Schools Project.  The affair was also attended by Brgy. Captain Benson F. Pilar, barangay officials, PTA officers and teachers, with Rizamar Y. Solomon –SSG president representing the student government.  This is the fourth school facility donated by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Ching in the Province of Negros Occidental.

            Since 1960 the FCCCII has completed a total of 4,008 buildings all over the country.  Mr. Ching emphasized that when it comes to education the Filipino-Chinese organization is willing and ready to help.  On the other hand, Wee Kiat Tan elucidated the 10 Golden Rules of Living based on prudence, honesty and integrity.
