24 Candidates File CoCs for May 10, 2010 Local Election

           Twenty-four candidates have filed their respective Certificate of Candidacy (Coc) for local elective positions between November 25, 2009 – December 01, 2009 in compliance with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) mandate.

            There are two candidates for mayor: Juliet Marie D. Ferrer is representing the Lakas Kampi CMD-UNA party.  A lawyer by profession, she is the wife of Cong. Jeffrey P. Ferrer of the 4th District, Negros Occidental.

            Independent candidate for the same post is Ann Joan S. Lenling.

            For Vice-Mayor: David T. Baga, Jr.—Lakas Kampi CMD-UNA and Francisco P. Marquiño – Independent.

            There are so candidates vying for seats for Sangguniang Panlungsod members.  Representing the NP-UNA are:  Karen L. Aguirre, Manuel R. Badillo, Zaldy C. Pernito, and Jeffrey E. Rumbines.  The NPC-Una banner holders are:  Ruel G. Alvañez, Annabelle Q. Bermudo, Julian M. Chiang, Jacob Liansing, and Ciriaco D. Sia, Jr.;  and Luis J. Jalandoni III – Lakas Kampi CMD-UNA.

            Liberal Party candidates are:  Jose Leofric F. de Paula, Mark G. Aguirre, Mars R. de Leon and Jaime Manuel H. Mariño.

            Independent runners are Godofredo G. Alcantara, Gary Glen G. Aries, Rosa A. Formby, Rex R. Jalando-on, Marcelino E. Neolpes, and Enrique F. Pacheco.
