CSC Holds SALN Forum

           On February 26, 2009 the Civil Service Commission, Region VI and the local government of La Carlota City held a forum on the Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) Disclosure of Business Interests and Financial Connections and Identification of Relatives in the government.  The forum was done pursuant to R.A. 6713.

            Vice Mayor David T. Baga, Jr., welcomed the guests and the participants.  He was joined by HRMO OIC Rommel C. Tam and the staff composed of HRMO IV Ma. Elena Roma and HRMO III Merlie Briones.  The visitors included CSC Director II Fernando Mendoza, Supervising Personnel Specialist Nestor Campoy and Personnel Specialist I Christine Estorque.  The orientation and learning sessions were aimed to promote the effective and efficient functions of government employees.  The Vice Mayor, on the other hand, added that the learning opportunity will help the LGU officials and employees to lead simple lives and encourage transparency in the service.

            Director Mendoza stressed the legal basis and rationale on the implementation of the new SALN so that all public officers should serve the people well as good examples of honesty, integrity and accountability.
