4TH DISTRICT INDIGENTS TO BENEFIT FROM
CONG. FERRER’S MEDICAL AID FUND

A P1M medical assistance fund intended for the financially disadvantaged constituents of the 4th District has been allocated by Cong. Jeffrey P. Ferrer in a tie–up with the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.  This was made public during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, first week of November by and between Cong. Ferrer, the CLMMRH represented by Dr. Epifania S. Simbul, and Mayors Jose Maria A. Alonso – Pontevedra, Romel P. Yogore – Valladolid, Ramon D. Torres – Bago City, and Demie John C. Honrado – La Carlota City, Magdaleno M. Peña – Pulupandan, and Dr. Jilson D. Tubillara – San Enrique.

The occasion also coincided with the blood–letting program sponsored and led by Cong. Ferrer as donor.  This was also done with the participation of the CLMMRH medical staff and personnel of the La Carlota City Health Office led by Dr. Erwina Frances B. Jalandoni.  A total of 73 donors gave 450cc of blood each in various types.  They were volunteers from the city government offices, the PNP, the barangays, and from inmates of the BJMP.

Services that will be extended to qualified recipients by the CLMMRH are free medicines, laboratory and medical examinations, X–ray, ultrasound, hospitalization and other related services upon the referral of the congressman’s office.

The program, as stressed by Cong. Ferrer, is designed solely for the poor and the indigents of the district so they can cope with the prohibitive costs of medical and hospitalization services.

Dr. Simbul commended the solon, stressing her support for the undertaking and gave assurance that the cooperative effort will succeed.  “It is a big help to the needy,” she also said, “and I really admire the unity of the people here in Negros.”  Joining her was Prov’l. Helath Officer Luisa B. Efren and her staff.

Those who witnessed the occasion were City Vice Mayor David T. Baga, Jr. and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod: Rose L. Aguirre, Ciriaco D. Sia, Jr., Jacob Liansing, and Jeffrey E. Rumbines, City Admin. Jerico D. Jalandoni, Homer Q. Bermudo and Jose Benito A. Alonso of the congressional staff, Jail Sr. Insp. Jonairy Sitchon, and Manuel R. Badillo.
